I had a wonderful time at the annual Realm Makers conference, co-teaching with fellow author Ronie Kendig. Our continuing session on writing science fiction was well attended and well received. Ronie made me feel like a rock star.

During the Friday evening Realm Awards banquet, as I sat watching the yearly parade of wonderful SF/fantasy costumes, I thought, “Someday, if someone chooses to cosplay one of my characters, I will be a very happy woman.”

The next morning, a lovely young redhead informed me that next year, she wants to dress as Lady Firebird.

I am, indeed, a very happy woman.

And (fanfare, please! This is the BIG news) the official countdown has begun for the September “cover reveal” for the first book in my forthcoming Firebird Interlude trilogy, and I absolutely love the cover art by the wonderful Kirk DouPonce. WOW.
