Kathy’s science fiction novel Shivering World was one of four finalists in the “Visionary” category for this year’s Christy Award, which is presented annually by the Evangelical Christian Publishing Association. The award honors Christy, a pioneer Christian novel published in 1967. It was announced at the awards gala on November 6, 2019, that Shivering World was honored as this year’s “Visionary” Christy Award winner. Congratulations to ALL the Christy Award finalists!
Just finished binge-reading the Firebird series! These are the best novels I have ever read! I started reading off and on, but quickly got drawn in. I have loved Science Fiction as long as I have known it existed. As a former Physics major turned pastor, this is right up my alley. I just finished my third course in Biblical Hebrew, and have enjoyed the Hebrew words that I have recognized. I will read back through the books and put all the radicals through Alhatorah to see what comes out.
The twists and turns in the plot are amazing! The new vocabulary is part of what makes this great (catch field not tractor beam, slip state instead of warp or wormhole). Looking forward to reading more! Shalom!!
Hello Rick. I’m sorry to have taken so long responding to your gracious comment. The internet is still largely a mystery to me. (c: Anyway THANK YOU for the kind words, and Shalom to you as well! All my best,Kathy
Will we be seeing a second book in this series – considering it ends with some loose ends (like Trev, what happens to planet, health of Graysha)?
Thanks for your interest, Ryan, and apologies for my tardy reply! I love that you connected so deeply with Shivering World. I must be honest and say that, even with the loose ends in the ending, I felt like the story in and of itself was complete. So for the moment, there won’t be any further books in the Shivering World universe.
However, I do have some exciting new projects coming down the pike. My book Crystal Witness has 3 sequels coming. Although it’s a different world, perhaps it might be of interest to you. Keep an eye on this space for further updates about that and other book-related news.
Thanks again for reaching out, Ryan!
